DIAPER FREE TIME:
     We give Margot some time right after a poop/pee/diaper-change to roam around her room sans diaper. Helps prevent diaper rash and all that. Well, a few days ago, I was sitting on the toilet with Margot, trying to get her to pee. 10 minutes pass. Not a single drop. So I bring her back into her room, and let her play in the buff. I figure I'm pretty safe. So she's sitting there playing with her Noah's Ark book, while I'm making diapers. Then she climbs up on me playfully, and I'm wondering why her socks are wet. I look down and there's a huuuuuge puddle of pee on the floor. Wow, thanks Margot! The worst part is, after all the cursing and cleaning, the first thing I thought was, "crap, I forgot to take a picture for the blog."

POOPS IN THE TOILET:
     This is for all the EC practicioners out there. After you poop your kid, and right before you flush, do you ever look at the poop sitting in the bowl and think to yourself, "wow, I am soooo glad that one was in the toilet and not in a diaper!" I was thinking that today after a particularly large deposit Margot made this afternoon. If I didn't poop her, she would've turned her diaper into the Playdoh Fun Factory. Then it occurs to me that her poop is as big as mine. I wonder if I should be worried. Crap, forgot to take a picture for the blog. Again.

lucia turned two last week! angelyn and carlos decided to host
a rager with 83 guests!

i'm just going to quickly touch on a subject off the topic. is it me or is
margot's head just really really big? i noticed it in other pictures but thought
maybe it was the perspective (denial). she's not that much closer to
the camera here, and her head looks GIGANTIC compared to lucia's. not
only that, it just looks GIGANTIC compared to her body. i mean, where'd her
neck go??? is it because she's half korean? is it because martin loves
peanuts cartoons?

okay, back to the party…

there was pizza, a bounce house, hello kitty cake, a craft table and of course,
their playground set. margot loves the swing and kept clapping.

here's charlie and kiki saying hi to margot from the bounce house. right after
this, something happened and kiki and charlie both started crying. child extractions
from the bounce house were made, and all was well once again.

i also met a margot fan! carlee and xavier are avid readers of margot's blog!
so glad to meet you and can't wait to catch up on xavier's blog.

at the end of the party, we all sat on their lawn (that carlos designed!) and
hung out until it was time to go home. i wouldn't let margot sleep in the car
as she still needed to eat dinner, but she went to sleep a full hour earlier
than usual! we should rage more often.

jenny + martin’s day of feces

as many of you know, we're practicing elimination communication,
which is basically, us teaching margot to go in the toilet.

it's been going pretty good since we started when she was 5 months old.
most of her poops are in the toilet which make diaper changes so awesome!

but saturday, oh saturday…

margot always poops first thing in the morning when she wakes up.
but sometimes it's a 3-4 poop day.

so saturday started off normal. everything's fine. had her morning dump.
later in the morning she stopped everything she was doing and started
to strain so martin ran upstairs handed her to me. he said there wasn't
any poop yet, so i took off her diaper, and lo and behold, POOP! i ran
her to the toilet so she could finish, but i guess she had some dingleberries
that landed on our bed. AWESOME.

later in the afternoon we were playing and then she stopped and started
to strain again. so i took of her diaper, phew, clean. ran to the toilet, had
another dump. yay.

HALF AN HOUR LATER martin stepped in poop. i guess on my
way to the bathroom she laid an egg. oops.

bro-mance and babies

since martin and neil (his best man) are stay-at-home-dads, they've been
having their own playdates with their girls.

unfortunately, neil will be going back to work in february, but he'll be back
with hannah when she turns 8 months!

happy birthday dylan!

dylan turned one! the boy has been walking since he was 8 months!

he, like most babies (but not margot), picked an object. he chose a
pen which means he'll be a writer, just like his mom.
